Sisterhood

Sisterhood is one of the most unique aspects of being a Delta Zeta. Your Delta Zeta sisters will be friends that you cherish for a lifetime. To expand our sisterhood we have activities such as big and little sisters, triads, and sisterhood events.

You are able to choose your big sister as a new member of Delta Zeta. Your big sister will be one of your closests friends and mentors not only throughout your Delta Zeta experience, but for life.

Triads are a combination of one alumnae, a new member and an active of Delta Zeta. This teaches you the benefits of each stage of Delta Zeta membership.

Our chapter holds sisterhood events each month as a break from Monday night meetings. We have held Sisterhoods by going out to eat, bowling, having sleep-over retreats, and going to the movies.

Academics

Brenda, Jessica, Jill, and Jaime

Academics is a large part of being a Delta Zeta. After all, you wouldn't be a Delta Zeta if you weren't in school to begin with. To help you out with those college courses, though, our chapter has study groups, G.P.A. contests, and scheduling parties.

This semester's G.P.A. contest pairs up chapter members into teams. The person that gets the highest G.P.A. gets treated to lunch by the other teammate.

Iota Psi scheduling parties helps members make out their semester schedule. Scheduling your classes with other sisters gives you an automatic study partner in that class. At scheduling parties you can also get recommendations on professors and classes from other sisters who may have taken that class previously.

Leadership

Joining Delta Zeta is just the beginning! Delta Zeta opens many doors to you for other leadership opportunities in the chapter, on campus, and in the community.

Currently, Delta Zeta sisters are also part of:
  • UTA Peer Leadership
  • UTA Cheerleaders
  • UTA Student Congress
  • MavCamp Counselors
  • EXCEL members and directors
  • GAMMA (Greeks Advocating the Mature Management of Alcohol)
  • Alpha Chi Honor Society
  • Order of Omega
  • Gamma Sigma Alpha Honor Society
  • Golden Key Honor Society

DZ Sisters at Bid Day!

And many more....

This semester, two Delta Zeta sisters were named in UTA's Top Student Leaders!

Service

Last, but not least, is service. Delta Zeta teaches our members to be not only assets to our chapter and campus, but to our community as a whole. Each year, the Greek System at UTA donates countless hours and money to charities in Arlington.

This semester, Delta Zeta donated 23 beds to the Arlington Night Shelter for pregnant homeless women. Also this semester, Delta Zeta joined forces with the rest of the Greek System to paint walls at the Night Shelter as our philanthropy project for Greek Week.

The Greek System at UTA continuously joins forces for such organizations as the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Battered Women's Shelter of Arlington, Cooks Children's Hospital, and the Children's Miracle Network just to name a few.
